UNCG track and field senior Chelsea Sumney has been awarded one of 10 Southern Conference postgraduate scholarships for the 2012-13 season.

The UNCG women’s and men’s cross country programs were recognized as one of the top academic programs in the country Tuesday earning team and individual honors for the 2012 season from the USTFCCCA.

More than 300 student-athletes earned spots on the Academic All-Southern Conference Team for the 2012 fall semester, the league office announced Monday.
